Set Up Stateside is a trade name of Read & Associates, Inc., a company incorporated in the United States, with offices at 37 N Orange Ave, Ste 222 #3010, Orlando, FL 32801.
We are UK and US qualified accountants specialising in cross-border tax and compliance for UK businesses operating in the United States.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, Read & Associates, Inc. is the data controller for the personal information we collect through this website.
What information we collect
When you complete a form on this website — including our formation checklist assessment — we collect the following information:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- Your company name
- Your phone number (if provided)
- Your answers to the assessment questions, including information about your business situation, the type of US entity you have or are considering, your turnover, and your timeline
We do not collect payment information, government identification numbers, or sensitive personal data through this website.
Why we collect your information
We collect your information for the following purposes:
- To respond to your enquiry. When you submit a form, you are requesting information and/or a consultation from us. We use your details to contact you in connection with that request.
- To send you your personalised checklist. Your assessment answers allow us to tailor the information we send you to your specific circumstances.
- To follow up by email. Following your submission, we may send you a short series of emails relevant to your situation. These emails relate directly to the subject of your enquiry.
- To improve our service. We may review responses in aggregate (without identifying individuals) to understand the most common questions and concerns among our clients.

How long we keep your information

- If you become a client, we will retain records for a minimum of seven years in line with accounting and legal requirements.
- If you do not proceed to a consultation or engagement, we will retain your information for up to 24 months from the date of your submission, after which it will be deleted or anonymised.

Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with the following third parties in the course of providing our services:
- GoHighLevel (GHL). We use GoHighLevel as our customer relationship management (CRM) platform. Your submission data is stored in GHL in order for us to manage your enquiry and send follow-up communications. GoHighLevel processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy.
- Email delivery providers. We use third-party services to send emails. These providers process your email address for delivery purposes only.
We require all third-party service providers to keep your personal information confidential and to use it only for the purposes we have specified. We do not permit them to use your information for their own purposes.
International transfers
Read & Associates, Inc. is based in the United States. When you submit information through this website, your data is transferred to and processed in the US. We take steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place in connection with such transfers, in line with UK GDPR requirements.
